What up fam! This is G1. June 8th is always a rough time for me. It was the day my best friend and co-founder of NGC, Lamont "5'58 Premiyum" Hendrix passed away. Only 30 at the time, 5'58 died before he could see this dream of ours. The dream that ther world would know his music, and help others while he was sharing his vision.  I guess that is why i am PSYCHO, when it comes to NGC. I never want to let him down.

Sometimes I sit and wonder what he would say, if he was around to see things like the NGC PODCAST SHOW, the many cds we have released underground, the concerts that Doctor Oscify participates in, the music that J-Palm keeps making and playing. I know he would be like "FLIPPING OUT" as he seeing the success of folks close to him like DJ HOUSESHOES, or sadness with  the  DEATH OF J-DILLA, whom he shared many conversations and worked on some music with a couple of times.  I am sure he is smiling down on it all.

NGC FAM, I wish you all could have know the joy and good times we shared, J-Palm, 5'58 and I. His laughter was catching, but Folks think I'm tough? U did not want to come to the studio unprepared. PERIOD. I am a gnat compared to 5'58. lol. But I stood TOE to TOE with him on any and everything. We would get mad, and not talk for a couple of days, and then it was love all over again.

One of the best stories i can tell, was the time when we were at the DISC studio in Detroit. We were waiting on Marcus and J-Palm was doing the keys and bassline for a song, that according to 5'58 sounded like "DRE." Well that lead to a discussion on whether Marcus would like it or not. the song was hott!! But it almost did not come about. He and I went back and forth. It was the first time I ever had an any type of input on an UnPlugged Roots track. I fought for this track. Anyhow, Marcus comes in the studio, the song is playing, and he just starts to FREESTYLE. G1 wins!  The song, "360 Degrees" and its on his page! I remeber it like it was yesterday.  Man I miss him!

So, to  pay tribute, I have created a page for him, and I will play all the music I own, and I am sure the rest of the fam, J-Palm will share what they have of his!
